FELTON - C. Michael Wingo, Sr. passed away peacefully at Bay Health in Dover on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017. Mr. Wingo was born in Ameagle, W.Va. to the late Guyna and Sylvia Wingo. He was an assembly line worker for Chrysler Corp. in Newark. Michael was a member of First Baptist Church in Milford and served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mickey Wingo; and brother, Kenneth Wingo. Michael is survived by his wife, Cheryl Wingo; children, Michael Wingo Jr., Cora Leigh Reed, and James John Wingo; brothers, Guyna 'Sparkie' Wingo Jr., and Steve Wingo; nine grandchildren, Bradley Wingo, Bryan Wingo, Shelby Wingo, Michael Roberts, Shaina Reed, Desire Roberts, Zachary Wingo, Jessica Reed, and Joshua Wingo; and great-granddaughter, Mickayla Wingo. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of First Baptist Church, 6062 Old Shawnee Rd., Milford, DE 19963, where friends may call after 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Harrington. Arrangements in the care of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
