Brenda Spencer-Lawler, 49

HIGHLAND VILLAGE, Texas - Brenda Spencer-Lawler of Highland Village lost her two year battle with brain cancer Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, in Texas. She was 49.

When Brenda was born in Dover, Del., on Aug. 16, 1958, the world gained an incredible person with a sense of humor that many could not touch nor dare try to.

Laughter and love surrounded Brenda throughout her life, but especially during the last few weeks.

Brenda lived and loved to make people happy and she was quite successful at both throughout her life.

It was Brenda"s sense of humor that got her family and friends through what were some of the toughest days of our lives.

It was that humor that propelled her to a successful career at Avnet and Mary Kay. where she made numerous lifelong friends, too many to mention.

Brenda continued to find a way to communicate through humor, even on the darkest of days.

In Brenda"s last few weeks on this earth, she said "we have had more laughter in one week than most families have in a lifetime," and she couldn"t have been more right, but it was all thanks to her ornery smile and infectious laugh.

Her family would like to take this opportunity to thank the people in Brenda"s life who continued to take time out of their busy schedules to visit, call or send cards throughout this two year journey. They would especially like to send thanks to their Delaware and Maryland families, the Shane families, Council family, Scott family, Alexander family and the Severe family, whose continued support and prayers for Brenda got her through some of her toughest days.

Family meant everything to Brenda and you did not let her down.

Brenda touched many lives in her 49 years, but none more so than the lives of her family.

She is survived by her parents, Bob and Joyce Spencer; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, Pam, Mike, Natalie and Shane Snyder, Kim, Charlie, Cortney and Keegan Marquis, Maribeth, Kevin, Spencer, Weston and Brayden Canole, all of Highland Village, Texas; a brother, sister-in-law and nephew, Bobby, Jenny Lynn and Geddy Spencer of New York, N.Y.; grandparents, Elizabeth Shane and the late Roy Shane; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins throughout Delaware and Maryland; and husband, Steve Lawler, children, Josh, Chris and Rachel Lawler, all of Allen, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018.
