Brenda Lynn (Hartman) Allen, 48

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Brenda Lynn (Hartman) Allen of Chestertown died Saturday, March 24, 2007, in her home. She was 48.

Born in Baltimore on July 5, 1958, Brenda was the daughter of William F. Hartman Sr. of Chestertown and the late Sylvia A. (McLaughlin) Hartman.

She graduated from Queen Anne's County High School in 1976.

Brenda married Billy Allen in August 2001.

She was a very independent woman who enjoyed working on the water, fishing and crabbing, and selling arts and crafts. She also loved animals.

Brenda was a member of Chestertown Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by a daughter, Carrie Hope Harris of Chestertown; a son, James Henry "Butch" Jones III of Chestertown; two brothers, Joseph Allen Hartman of Chestertown and William Frederick Hartman Jr. of Chestertown; and two grandchildren, Donovan Harris and Breann Harris.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, where relatives and friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Crumpton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Chester River Hospice Foundation, 6602 Church Hill Road, Suite 300, Chestertown, MD 21620.

Arrangements by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Chestertown.
