DOVER - Brenda Joyce Dunlap, of Dover, died Friday, April 25, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 56.
She was born Jan. 29, 1952, in Austin, Texas, and was the daughter of Rebecca Alexander and the late Joseph D. Alexander.
Brenda was educated in the Capitol and Caesar Rodney school districts.
She worked at Woolco for 11 years in Dover.
Brenda enjoyed life and lit up everyone's life she came in contact with. She loved people and people loved her. She enjoyed singing and eating different foods.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph D. Alexander.
Brenda leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Rebecca Alexander of Dover; 10 brothers and sisters, Joseph Jr. and Norma of Capperas Cove, Texas, Abdul Nasir and Lorraine of Richmond, Va., Ricky of Dover, Michael of Pennsylvania, Donald and Bertha of Tampa, Fla., David of Dover, Shawn of Dover, Patricia of Dover, Bernice and Elmer of Dover and Linda of Dover; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A special thanks to the CNAs and friends at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna.
Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may view two hours prior.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
