Billy Thomas Hall, 74

NEWARK - Billy Thomas Hall of Newark went home to be with his Lord Sunday, April 22, 2007, surrounded by his loving family, in his residence. He was 74.

Born in Pittsville, Md., on Aug. 12, 1932, he was the son of the late Eddie and Pauline (Donaway) Hall.

Mr. Hall served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea.

He worked and devoted his entire life to thoroughbred horse racetracks. In 2001 he retired from the Maryland Racing Association. For nine years, Mr. Hall worked for Mrs. R.D. DuPont at Bohemia Stables.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Mumford and Peggy Hall.

He is survived by his loving family, which includes his wife of 42 years, Dorothy "Dottie" (Thompson) Hall; two sons, Tom Hall and his girlfriend K.C. Crosby and Eddie Hall and his wife Lori; four grandchildren, Brandon and Ashli Hall, Ashley VanGilder and Megan Watson; and three great-grandchildren, Bryce Hall and Ashton and Jaaron Watson. He is also survived by six siblings, Ray Hall of Willards, Md., Hilda Foskey and Betty White, both of Pittsville, Doris Quillen of Ocean City, Md., Jean Coffin of Selbyville, and Dot Mumford of Georgetown.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where family and friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment with military honors will be held at Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Hall's memory to Living Waters Church of God, 498 E. Chestnut Hill Road, Newark, DE 19713.
