FELTON - Billy Joe England was known for his big heart, bright mind, and energizing spirit. Billy loved and was loved by his family and friends unconditionally. He struggled, as so many people struggle, with issues surrounding substance abuse. He wanted to be well and we all prayed for him. And sometimes the time just comes. On Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, Billy passed away at the age of 49.
Billy loved the beach and found peace watching the colors of a beautiful sunset-his photographs reflect that peace. He was also somewhat of a Dr. Dolittle-he loved all animals, particularly his fur baby, Jazz. He once had a cockatiel named Tweedles that he taught to whistle and dance and even taught him a few words that we can't print here.
Born in Salem, Ind. on Jan. 15, 1969, he was the son of Allen England and Gail Kemp. He was predeceased by his mother and step-father, Carl (Tim) Kemp; his Grammy, Margaret Nicholls; aunt, Brenda Moore; uncle, Ron Nicholls; and cousin, Sandra Pearson.
Billy was a graduate of Milford High School and held many different jobs over the years. He was a hard worker and loved being around people-he enjoyed his job at Piazza Mia as a server and had diners who would wait long periods of time just so they could be seated with him.
Billy was the nearly lifelong best friend of Bobby Tribbitt, his biggest supporter and confidant. Bobby stood beside Billy through all the highs and lows, loving and supporting him unconditionally.
Billy was the beloved brother of Audrey (Fred) Eason, Brett (Kym) England, Yvonne (Kevin) Owen, Jenny (David) Hemple; uncle of Brittney (Brandon) Dye, Logan Anderson, Kara and Lindsey England, Kaitlyn and Kyle Owen, Jordan, Tim and Hannah Hemple; nephew of Terri (Butch) Harrington, Barb (Joe) Wininger, Joan Nicholls; cousin of Craig (Deanna) Moore, Leigh Wininger and Jessica (Christian) Mease; as well as other relatives and devoted friends.
Billy's struggles have ended and while his family and friends are heartbroken, we know he is now at peace. He will be loved and missed forever.
In Billy's honor, donations may be made to Berry-Short Funeral Home, P. O. Box 233, Milton, DE 19968 to help defray funeral costs or to a charity of your choice.
