Belva Jean Wyttenbach
It is with great sadness that we announce on April 5, 2022, Belva Jean Wyttenbach died peacefully at home after a long illness. We can rejoice that she is now with our Lord and Savior in Heaven!
She was born in Rochester, Minnesota on July 12, 1933, to Walter & Gertrude Christopherson. She grew up on Mayo Farm #1 which her father managed.
Belva graduated high school in 1951 and worked for a short time as a medical secretary at the Mayo Clinic. She met her future husband Daryl on a blind date with her cousin Marilyn and his brother Warren, who were married several years before. Daryl was home on leave from the U.S. Air Force at the time. They were married on July 25, 1953, in Rochester. Moving several places due to the service, they were stationed at Whiteman AFB, Missouri where their first two children, Brian (1956) and Keith (1961), were born. Transferred to Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, Arizona, in 1962, their third child, Blake, was born in 1963. They were transferred to Lincoln AFB, Nebraska in 1964, and stayed there until the base was closed in late 1965. They made their final move to Dover AFB, Delaware in Jan. 1966 and have lived in the area ever since.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed raising her family, cooking, being a homemaker, and at one time, ballroom dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gertrude Christopherson.
Belva is survived by her loving husband, Daryl (93); her son, Brian Wyttenbach (spouse: Diane, children: Brian Jr. and Andrew); her son, Keith Wyttenbach (spouse: Laura, children: Chrissy, Brandon, Grace, Parker;); and her son, Blake Wyttenbach (spouse: Marcia, children: Scott and Hayden). In addition, her brother, Jim Christopherson (spouse: Cathy) that live in Duluth, Minn. Also, great-grandchildren, Cory, Kayla, Jalen, Isaiah, Amaiya, and Aiden.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10). Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
