Basil Thomas Spencer, 95
TOWNSEND - Basil Thomas Spencer, of Townsend, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 95.
Mr. Spencer was born Jan. 13, 1913, in Jenkins, Ky., son of the late David and Mary (Pendleton) Spencer.
He worked as a fireman for the Wilmington School Board for several years before retirement.
In his spare time, Mr. Spencer enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Spencer Potter; and a great-grandson, Dwight Spence Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Roop Spencer; a son, David R. Spencer and his wife Virginia of Townsend; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services and burial were private.
Arrangements by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium, Smyrna.
