Sullenberger, 80 DOVER - Barbara Lee Sullenberger, passed away surrounded by her loving family, at St. Francis Hospital, in Wilmington, Del., on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 6:24 p.m. Barbara was born January 15, 1932, in Marcus Hook, Pa., the daughter of the late Edward and Marie Meyers. At the age of 75, Barbara retired after over fifty years of work in the hospitality industry. She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking trips to Dover Downs, playing computer games, as well as working on puzzles. She also enjoyed shopping for the holidays and trips to the beach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jack I. Sullenberger, Sr.; and her sister, Christine Green. She is survived by three sons, Jack Jr. and his wife Melissa, James and his wife Johnna, Christopher and his wife Jennifer; two daughters, Linda Marroni and her husband Alan, and Tracy Bird; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Teddy. A viewing will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
