Hungerford, 88 WYOMING - Barbara E. Hungerford, 88, of Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 31, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born in Bridgeport, Conn. on February 21, 1927 to the late Adolph and Sophie Schipul. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; and son, Clarence J. Hungerford; and her siblings, Fred, Lillian, Andrew, and Dorthy. Barbara married her husband Clarence in 1946 and they were blessed with 43 years together. She was a wonder mother to six boys and worked in the home while supporting Clarence's service in the U.S. Army. Barbara served as a scout leader when the boys were young and attended just about every game and event. She loved to cook and do crafts, especially crocheting and was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara was a strong woman of faith and a long time member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Dover and remained actively involved until she was unable to attend. Barbara took every opportunity to help those around her. She will always be remembered for her loving nature and sweet smile. Barbara is survived by her children, Robert and his wife Donna, Raymond, Richard, Thomas and Mark; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 425 N. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Friends may gather one-hour prior. In lieu of flowers contributions in Barbara's honor can be sent to The American Cancer Society or The American Diabetes Association. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
