Audrey Manganaro, 77

SMYRNA - Audrey Manganaro of Smyrna passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 77.

Born on Oct. 7, 1930, in Staten Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Elsie and George Merrell.

Mrs. Manganaro worked at the M.O.T. Senior Center in the late 1980s as a cook, which gave her pleasure spending time with the seniors.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Anthony Manganaro; her only daughter and best friend, Toni Jean Patten and her husband, Gary of Smyrna; two grandsons who she loved very dearly, John Carey and Gary Patten Jr. of Smyrna; one brother, George Merrell of Staten Island, N.Y.; one sister, Edith Solheim of Staten Island; a very special family friend, Mia Downward; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be noon Saturday in the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where family and friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Interment will be in Forest Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Manganaro's memory to the M.O.T. Senior Center, 300 S. Scott Street, Middletown, DE 19709.
