Audrey M. Darrell Slover, 79

SMYRNA - Audrey M. Darrell Slover, 79, of Smyrna, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2009, at Christiana Hospital, Newark. Born on Nov. 1, 1929, in Downs Chapel, she was the daughter of the late Norman A. Darrell and Blanche L. (King) Darrell Jewell. Audrey was a homemaker who enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, needlework and playing cards with her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lester A. Slover in 1996; two brothers, James A. and Walter A. Darrell; three sisters, Mary R. Darrell Durham, Norma E. Darrell Minner, Mabel J. Darrell Dill; and a step-brother, Roy C. Jewell. She is survived by two sons, Larry W. Slover and his wife Cathy of Townsend, and Lester Slover Jr. and his wife Bobbie of Woodside; two daughters, Lois A. Slover Miller of Smyrna, and Linda D. Slover Loller and her husband Edward of Smyrna; 11 grandchildren, P. Wayne Rigler and his wife Katie of Plano, Texas, Scott D. Slover and his wife Stacey of Townsend, Shelly Slover Butterfoss and her husband Neal of North East, Md., Richard D. Miller and his wife Shannon of Clayton, Jeffrey S. Miller and his wife Amy of Camden, Erica Miller Vockel and her husband Steven of Harrington, Roy L. Jarman of Clayton, Audra M. Jarman of Portland, Ore., Garrett Jarman of Pikeville, Ky., Lindsey M. Slover and Maxwell A. Slover of Dover; 13 great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Kaitlyne Jarman, Jake, Emma and Phillip Rigler, Erin and Emma Miller, Hunter, Morgan and Shauna Miller, Kaleb, Brayden and Logan Vockel, and Kelsey Fritz; three brothers, Harold R. Adams and his wife Elaine of Kenton, Robert L. Jewell, and Edward F. Jewell and his wife Margaret of Hartly; extended family, Mary and Roger Dutton of Clayton, and their children Shawn and his wife Claudine, R.D. and Tina. Family and friends may visit from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30 at the funeral home, where friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Townsend Cemetery, Townsend. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Heartland Hospice, 256 Chapman Rd, Suite 102, Newark, DE 19702; Delaware Hospice, Inc., 911 S.
