LEWES — Cape Henlopen High boys’ soccer player Brady Spiegel was voted this week’s State News Athlete of the Week.
The senior forward scored four goals in the Vikings’ 5-1 Henlopen North victory over Polytech.
With the contest tied 1-1 at halftime, Spiegel netted three second-half goals in a 12-minute span. For the season he has six goals and a pair of assists.
“Brady is a tenacious forward,” said Cape Henlopen coach Patrick Kilby. “He puts the opposition’s back line under enormous pressure. He does this for long periods of time throughout match play.
“Brady puts a lot on himself to perform for the team. I truly believe he is one of Delaware’s top forwards this season.”
