Arthur 'Bud' Moretz, 81
REHOBOTH BEACH - Arthur "Bud" Moretz, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Brandywine Assisted Living, Rehoboth Beach. He was 81.
Mr. Moretz was born in Philadelphia, son of the late Adolphus Arthur and Mabel (Wentzel) Moretz.
Prior to retiring to Delaware in 1984, he and his family had resided in the Frankford section of Philadelphia since 1953.
Mr. Moretz retired after 35 years service with Bell of Pennsylvania.
He was a member of the Rehoboth United Methodist Church of Philadelphia.
Mr. Moretz was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a life member of American Legion Post 7447, Rehoboth Beach.
He worked for Penn Del Lock Co., Rehoboth Beach, for a few years after moving to Delaware, and served as a volunteer at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
Mr. Moretz was a U.S. Navy veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moretz was predeceased by his wife, Dorris (Van Coppenolle) Moretz; and a sister, Janet Lukens.
He is survived by a son, Preston M. Moretz and his wife Mary of Philadelphia; and three sisters, Betty Shields of Philadelphia, Ruth Arms of Langhorne, Pa., and Jean Hollenbach of Milton.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fox Chase United Methodist Church, Loney and Fillmore streets, Philadelphia, with the Rev. Stanley Krall officiating.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions are suggested to Seaside Church, P.O. Box 443, Lewes, DE 19958.
