DOVER - Arlene M. Cano "Sis" passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Kent General Hospital.
Sis was born August 15, 1938, in Dover, Delaware to the late Roland Conner and Elizabeth Spayd Conner. She was a true Doverite, born and raised here. She loved Dover.
She graduated from Dover High School in 1956, as well as graduating from Philadelphia Modeling School. Sis had worked at Playtex for 8 years prior to working at the Delaware State News for 29 years. She bought, sold, and collected antiques for 60 years, and had a booth at Spences for over 20 years. Sis was very active in the tennis community and was one of the founders of the Colonial Tennis Club.
Sis was a dedicated mother and friend.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her brother, Roland Conner, Jr.; and her beloved cat, Bo.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher Cano of Dover and Timothy Cano and his significant other Patti of Rehoboth Beach; grandchildren, Donovan and Jon Anderson; great grandchildren, Isabella and India Anderson.
Memorial services will be held, 6 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the ASPCA.
