DOVER - Anthony Walter Ridgeway, Sr. passed away, Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.
Mr. Ridgeway was born April 10, 1938 in Cheswold, Delaware to the late Benjamin Ridgeway, Sr. and Dorothy Morgan Ridgeway.
He worked 66 years retiring in 2010 in Farm Management. Mr. Ridgeway had also worked for Edgell Construction. He enjoyed hunting, especially rabbit hunting with his hunting dogs, visiting with family, assisting in caring for his youngest granddaughter, and an Eagles football fan. Mr. Ridgeway also enjoyed the outdoors and country living.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Louise Ridgeway in 2018; brothers, Benjamin Ridgeway, Jr. and Floyd Morgan; sisters, Betty Garnette and Anietta Ridgeway.
He is survived by his children, Anthony (Andy) Ridgeway, Jr. of Dover, Monica (Susie) Ridgeway of Cheswold and Alverna (Tina) Ridgeway-Slacum of Dover; brothers, Charles Ridgeway of Woodside and Raymond Ridgeway of Smyrna; sisters, Mary Garnette of Odessa and Leona Morris of Cheswold; grandchildren, Andrea Ridgeway and Stephona Margaret; great grandchild, Arianna Jackson.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, Del. Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Immanuel Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
