Anthony A. 'Tony' Cherneski, 83
MILFORD - Anthony A. "Tony" Cherneski of Milford passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 83.
Mr. Cherneski was born March 6, 1924, in Graceton, Pa., son of the late John and Nellie (Richie) Cherneski.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Rangers, serving his country during World War II.
Mr. Cherneski was employed in management in the procurement office with General Motors, Baltimore, for 33 years. He retired in 1983.
He was a member of the Berean Community Church, Milford.
Mr. Cherneski is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley H. Cherneski; two sons, Lawrence Cherneski of Bel Air, Md., and Leonard Cherneski of Milford; a sister, Frances Tatara of Nanticoke, Pa.; two grandchildren, Stacey Nelson and Brian Cherneski; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Cherneski, Autumn Nelson and Taylor Nelson.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call two hours prior.
Burial with military honors will be in the Milford Community Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Berean Community Church, P.O. Box 187, Milford, DE 19963.
