LAUREL - Annie E. Willey passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018. Annie was a homemaker who loved her family dearly. She especially enjoyed sharing in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her other passion was her love for the Lord and her church, as well as, her daily Bible reading. She was a member for over 30 years of the First Baptist Church of Georgetown. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Margaret (Jones) Brewer; her husband, Alfred Willey; her companion of 37 years, James H. Ponder; two children, Cecil and Ruby; two grandchildren, Wendy Willey and Robbie Brewer; and one brother, Lawrence Brewer. Annie is survived by twelve children, Susann James, Randy Willey, Mary Willey, James Willey, Jeffrey Willey, John Ponder-Willey, Linda English, Robert Willey, Mina Willey, Christine Seitz, David Willey and Dorothy Willey; 32 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three sisters, Ola Martin, Becky Niblett and Betty Boltz; one niece; two nephews; and a host of extended family. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, DE 19968 where a time of visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Burial will be in Cokesbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the funeral home to assist with defraying the funeral expenses.
