LEWES - Anne M. "Shani" (Young) Misarti of Lewes died Friday, July 27, 2007, in Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
Mrs. Misarti was born Feb. 27, 1919, in Glasgow, Scotland.
She met and married her husband, Gabriel in England during World War II while she was an ambulance driver in the British Armed Forces, and he was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Mrs. Misarti returned with Gabriel to the United States immediately after the war. She became an American citizen and gave birth to two sons. She moved from Westport, Conn., to Delaware with her husband in 1995.
Over the course of her lifetime, she selflessly dedicated her love, wit and wisdom to her husband and family.
She is survived by her husband, Gabriel Misarti; two Sons, Adrian P. Misarti and Roland J. Misarti; five grandchildren, Gabriel, Nicole, Greg, James and Douglas Misarti; and two great-grandchildren, Sarah and Alexander.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call one hour earlier. Father Max Wolf will officiate.
Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beebe Medical Center Cardiac Care Unit, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958, or Beebe Medical Center School of Nursing, East Market Street, Lewes, DE 19958.
