Annabelle E. Boone, 89

HOUSTON - Annabelle E. Boone of Houston passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2007, in her home surrounded by family. She was 89.

Mrs. Boone was born in Laurel, daughter of the late Carroll M. and Anna Otwell Elliott.

She was raised in Bacon Switch near Laurel and graduated from Laurel High School. She took pride in attending her high school reunions and was one of the last four members to attend the 2007 reunion.

Mrs. Boone lived near Frederica, then moved to the corner of School and Armour streets in Houston in 1957, where she and her husband raised six children.

She was a school bus driver for Milford School District.

At the age of 19 she was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter Five in Delmar.

Mrs. Boone was a charter member of the Houston Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary, the Kent County Ladies Auxiliary and state president of the Delaware State Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Houston United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence James Boone in 1995; and a sister, Glennel Hardy.

She is survived by two daughters, Bernice Hamilton and her companion, Jerry of Danville, N.Y., and LuAnne R. Boone of Houston; four sons, Larry Otwell Horseman and his wife, Eugenia of Harrington, Carroll L. "Sonny" Boone and his wife, Nancy of Milford, John L. Boone and his wife, Cheryl of Farmington and James H. Boone and his wife, Rebecca of Houston; seven granddaughters, Caryl Ann Vincent, Stacy Louise Vincent, Sherry Ann McGinness, Angela Lee Boone, Amanda Carol Boone, Shaynee Rae Boone, Kerri Ann Boone; four grandsons, Elliott L. Boone, Daniel J. Boone, John P. Boone and Jeromy Zuk; great-grandchildren, Ian Gerald, Thomas McGinness, Ryan McGinness, Taylor Ann McGinness, Kaitlin McGinness, Dylan Vincent, Kenny Lee Vincent, Kyle Logan Vincent, Delaney Jane Vincent, Alyssa Hayli Lyons, A"liyah Shaelyn Boone, Maryana Destiny Boone and Lisa Angela Boone; and a niece, Ann Riley of Florida.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home where it is requested that family and friends wear bright clothing.

Burial will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
