Anna S. DeBold

MILFORD - Anna S. DeBold, 98, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2015. Anna was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. the daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine (Schuck) Schneider. She met and married her husband Lawrence A. DeBold in Pittsburgh, Pa. During WW II, Anna worked as a seamstress in a bed linens manufacturing company. After the birth of her children, she became a full time homemaker. In 1961, she and her family moved to Lake Charles, La. where she later worked as a customer service representative at Mullers Department Store. She took particular pride in wrapping Mrs. Muller's gifts. In her 70's Anna was the neighborhood chaperone for the children of working parents on Anglewood Drive, while they waited for the school bus. After her husband Lawrence passed away in 2006 after 65 years of marriage, Anna moved to Milford, to live with her son Lawrence and daughter-in-law Elizabeth. There she took up doing jigsaw puzzles while caring for her dog Sparky. She loved pizza and was a regular customer at Grotto's Pizza, where she celebrated her 98th birthday. In addition to her parents and her husband, Anna was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia DeBold; a son, Wayne R. DeBold; her twin brother, John Schneider; brother, Lawrence Schneider; sisters, Helen Miller, Rose Carney and Catherine Denner. She is survived by her son, Lawrence R. DeBold; a grandson, Lawrence A. DeBold; a great-grandson, Austin L. DeBold; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford where a viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in Ritchie Cemetery, Moss Bluff, La. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Carlisle Fire Company Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 292, Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
