Anna M. Chambers

MILFORD - Anna M. (Kipp) Chambers, formerly of Cheswold, died June 1, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Berry) Kipp, and wife of the late Paul A. Chambers. She was a member of Cheswold U. M. Church from 1925 to 2007 and then became a member of Avenue U. M. Church in Milford. She grew up in Cheswold and graduated from Dover High School, Class of 1942. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. She retired from McCroy's, at Rodney Village in Dover, after 30 years of service. She moved from Cheswold to Luther Towers, in Dover, after retirement and joined the Modern Maturity and Harvest Years in Dover. She enjoyed the TV Show General Hospital, plastic canvas, flower arranging and many other crafts. She moved from Luther Towers, after her illness, to Harrison House, Georgetown, then to Courtland Manor, Dover and ended at Milford Genesis, where she died. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Chambers Shockley Rothermel, of Harrington; a son, Frank Morris and wife Shirley, of Claymont; five grandchildren, Lesley Morris, Paula Fretz Jenkins, Carrie Shockley, Lori Shockley Tomaszewski, and Michael Shockley; four step-grandchildren, David, Jeff and Dan Rothermel and Donna Seamans; 21 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014 in Avenue United Church, 200 N. Church St., Milford, with visitation one hour before. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the church. Arrangements handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
