Andrew Joseph Geyer, 22
MILFORD - Andrew Joseph Geyer, of Milford, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, from injuries sustained in an accident while visiting in Morgantown, W.Va. He was 22. His parents, Mark and Gladys (Holloway) Geyer were blessed by the birth of their son, Andrew, on March 1, 1986, in Milford. Andrew graduated from Milford Senior High School with the class of 2004. He had a life long love for the game of golf, claiming the title in 2003 and 2006 of men's club champion at the Shawnee Country Club in Milford and as a member of the high school golf team, winning the state championship title in June of his senior year. He was also active in Milford High as a member of the Leo Club, Varsity Club and the National Honor Society. His dedication to the sport of golf continued at Wesley College in Dover as a member of the Wolverines golf team. He was the team captain, an all-CAC first team selection and placed fifth individually in the spring conference tournament. In addition he was in the school's honor program and had been named to the 2008 ESPN Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District team as well as the Capital Athletic Conference All-Academic team. Andrew was currently a senior at Wesley planning to enter law school after graduation. He was a member of Phi Sigma Alpha (Political Science Honor Society) and the Alpha Chi Honor Society. His family feels that his special talents and determination are needed elsewhere and they will miss him forever. He is survived by his parents, Mark and Gladys Geyer of Milford; three brothers, Myles Geyer, Jarred Geyer and Zeph Geyer, all of Milford; his paternal grandparents, Fred and Barbara Geyer of Milford; his maternal grandparents, Ted and Shirley Joseph of Ellendale and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at the Avenue United Methodist Church. Burial was held in the Milford Community Cemetery, Route 113, Milford.
