GEORGETOWN - Almeda R. Donaway passed away peacefully at the Delaware Veteran's Home in Milford, on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018. Almeda was born in Shawano, Wis. to the late Alfred and Minnie (Draeger) Rusch. She served in the Women's Army Corps during WWII and afterwards, worked in the cafeteria for the Georgetown School District. Almeda was a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church, as well as the Cheer Community Center. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Donaway, Jr.; and sisters, Avis Moore and Erna Denney. She is survived by her son, Dale (Cathy) Donaway of Rehoboth Beach; brother, Dale Rusch; sister, Rachel Peterson; grandson, Scott (Jaimie) Donaway; granddaughter, Melissa (Steve) Quick; and great-grandchildren, Austin and Tessa Quick and Jax and Niaya Donaway. Burial services will be private at the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. Arrangements in the care of Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
