DOVER - Alane Wallace died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in Aiken, S.C., of natural causes at the home of her lifelong friend, Margie Heath Chastain. Ms. Wallace was born on April 26, 1950, in Laurel, Miss., the daughter of the late Randolph and Carolyn Jones Wallace. She graduated from Bohemia Manor High School and attended Virginia Commonwealth University. She retired from the DE Dept. of Correction in June 2012, after 17 years of service. Ms. Wallace was an award winning water color artist, accomplished pianist, avid reader and nature lover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Randy, Danny and Jimmy Wallace. She is survived by her children, Erika Martine-Duquette and her husband Joel Duquette, and Christopher Hadden of Dover; five grandchildren, Brandan, Evan and Jeffrey Martine, Kathy and Chris Hadden; one great-granddaughter, Isabelle Sleeter and her beloved American Bulldog, Killy Joy. A service honoring her life will be held at Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, MD 21635 on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Zion Cemetery, Cecilton, MD at a later date.
