DOVER - Wilson Harry Brown passed away Monday, Sept. 10 2018. He passed at Cadia Rehabilitation Silverside, Wilmington, where he had lived for the last two years.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1930 in Bridgeville to the late John Harry Brown and Hester Wallace Brown.
Wilson was a loving father to his three children and a loving and dedicated husband and caregiver when needed to his beloved wife of 52 years, Barbara Failing Brown. He was a man of strong faith and shared his love of God throughout his life. Wilson earned a Bachelor of Theology degree from Eastern Pilgrim College in 1958 and served as a minister soon after in VA. He continued to serve his faith throughout his life speaking sermons and giving prayers and blessings, most recently at the dining facility at Cadia before meals. When asked his name for the last time he replied strongly and slowly with, "my name is Reverend Brown."
Wilson had a great talent for building and fixing things! Impressively building an A frame garage onto our home on his own, along with two other room additions. He was fond of working on cars and the Chevy name brand notably. He had a keen sense of humor and could make you smile. He will be dearly and greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Robert Brown and his wife Stephanie of Middletown; son, Kevin Brown and his wife Rylynn of Goldsboro; daughter, Beth Brown of Wilmington; and seven grandchildren, Kevin Brown Jr., Victoria Brown, Alexander Brown, Zachary Brown, Zoe Brown, William Brown and Ian Brown; two great grandchildren, Seraph Brown and Falen Brown. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Nelson Brown of Bridgeville.
Remembrance services will be 12 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14, 2018 at Trader Funeral Home in Dover. Burial will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Camden. Friends may also call Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at Trader Funeral Home, Dover.
