William P. 'Bill' Burke, 71

DENTON, Md. - William P. "Bill" Burke of Denton died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, in the Memorial Hospital of Easton. He was 71.

Bill was born Feb. 12, 1936, in Philadelphia, son of the late William P. Burke and Catherine Romayne McGuckin.

He graduated from North East High School, Philadelphia.

Bill worked his entire life in the printing business, stopping only to volunteer his service in the U.S. Army.

After leaving Korea, he returned to Philadelphia where he worked in sales and owned several printing businesses.

Bill retired in 2001 from the Diamond Roller Co., Georgia, as their regional sales manager.

He moved to Denton in 1982 from the South Jersey area.

Bill and his wife currently own Alexi's Bridals in Denton.

He was a sports enthusiast who also liked to play chess and Internet checkers.

Bill's passion, however, was Frank Sinatra; he was "Frank's greatest fan."

He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas V. Burke.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Blazejak Burke of Denton; his loving daughters, Lauren K. Paparo and Kathryn R. Liebrecht, both of Colchester, Vt.; his sons-in-law, Rick Paparo and Patrick Liebricht, both of of Colchester; his grandson, Ricky Paparo of Colchester; his granddaughter, Lyndsey Liebrecht of Colchester; his sister, Dorothy D'Agostino of North Wales, Pa.; and a brother, John T. Burke of Philadelphia.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service on Wednesday.

The interment will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Maryland Eastern Shore Veteran's Cemetery in Beulah, near Hurlock.
