REHOBOTH BEACH - William Joseph Dugan of Rehoboth Beach passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He was 64.
Mr. Dugan was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Philadelphia, son of the late Francis and Margaret (Ritter) Dugan.
He retired as a service technician for Verizon in 2002 after working more than 30 years in the telecommunication field.
Mr. Dugan was a very devout Catholic and a member of St. Edmond"s Catholic Church.
He was known for his generosity and charitable nature.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dugan was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Dugan.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann (O"Malley) Dugan; three daughters, Jennifer Marie Dugan of Clearwater, Fla., Christina Alexis Dugan of New York, N.Y., and Kara Elizabeth Dugan of Allentown, Pa.; two sisters, Barbara Rufo of Folcroft, Pa., and Mary "Pat" Dubin of Milton; and one brother, Francis Dugan of Rehoboth Beach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Edmond"s Catholic Church, King Charles and Laurel avenues, Rehoboth Beach, with Father Raymond Forrester as celebrant.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes.
Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Casa San Francisco, P.O. Box 38, Milton, DE; or to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.
