DOVER - William Henry Seufert passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 12, 2022. He was preceded in death by his adoring parents William and Alice Seufert.
Mr. Seufert was born August 10, 1940 in Camden, New Jersey to the late William Augustus Seufert and Alice Dorothy Campbell Seufert.
Bill spent his entire childhood in Gloucester, NJ and graduated from Gloucester High School in 1958.
He began his career working for Food Fair. He then became employed by Wonder Bread/Hostess Cake, where he worked for 30 years retiring in 1992.
Bill loved meeting people along his route and touched many lives. He truly loved people and enjoyed talking to them and spending time with them. He volunteered with many different organizations. Some of these included CASA and the ARC. He also volunteered at the Modern Maturity Center Meals on Wheels Program. He was also a proud member of the First State Harmonizers and loved singing.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. His lunch dates with his mom and grandchildren were a highlight of his week. This ritual is still remembered fondly by his grandchildren. Bill was an avid Philadelphia Sports Fan. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren at Dover Monster Mile volunteering at Nascar Races. Bill loved his cats, many of whom were rescued from the Cape May Ferry. He also loved tending to his plants.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Peter) Broe; grandchildren, Ray (Erin) Wickersham-Ben, Nora; Corinne (Vinny) Caputo-Parker, Bruno, Nico; Randy (Hilary) Wickersham-Connor; Chelsea (AJ) Castellini-Stella, Smith; Chelby (David)Wickersham-Lucian, James; Chloe; Raleigh (Kia) Wickersham-Ryan; and Ryder Wickersham.
He is also survived by his stepchildren, Joseph (Kristin) Zohlman-Kayla, Abby, Bella; James Zohlmann-Jessie, Wade; Sheryl-Kristen, Jonathan, Benjamin, Jacob.
Bill was a friend and mentor too many others throughout his life and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a time of sharing from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to ARC of Delaware or Meals on Wheels.
