William H. Hope Jr., 76

DOVER - William H. Hope Jr., of Dover, died Tuesday, Oct.17, 2006, in his home. He was 76.

Mr. Hope was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Chicago.

He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.

He was a graduate of the Corning Free Academy and Courtland University, both in New York.

Mr. Hope resided in Corning, N.Y. , before moving to Dover 30 years ago.

He owned a park and recreation equipment sales business for 37 years before retiring.

Mr. Hope was a member of the Talbot Rod and Gun Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Fay (Baldwin) Hope; and a sister, Jean Hope.

He is survived by his wife, Emily (Allen) Hope; a daughter, Gloria Weiss and her husband, Frederick, of Dover; three sons, William H. Hope III and his wife, Glenda of York, Pa., Steven Hope of Dover and Brian Hope of West Virginia; 11 grandchildren, Kristin Riddell and her husband, Kevin of Springfield, Mass., Megan Hope of Kentucky, Victoria Hope of York, Steven Hope Jr. of Florida, Elijah McCreary of Harrisburg, Pa., Hunter Mohamed-Aly in Egypt, Emily Harmon, Mercy Weiss, Emilie Weiss, Christina Weiss and Katrina Weiss, all of Dover; and a great-grandson, Nolan Hope of Kentucky.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in 630 W.Division St., Suite E, Dover, with fellowship to follow.

Arrangements by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
