MILLSBORO - William Edward "Bill" Norwood, age 81, of Millsboro, died on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bill the son of Arthur and Annie Norwood was born in Harbeson, on Oct. 31, 1929. Bill was a carpenter for many years and also worked at Townsend's and Mountaire. He never officially retired but moved to farming for the remainder of his career. Bill enjoyed farming, spending time working around the yard and tinkering with small projects. He was a member of the Nanticoke Indian Association, and Indian Mission United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ingrid Dawn Norwood-Sammons in 1993. Bill is survived by his wife, Joan Crawford "Frank" Norwood; one son-in-law, Phillip H. Sammons; two grandchildren, Mark C. Sammons and Tara D. Sammons-Doughty; two great-grandchildren, Christopher S. Doughty, and Katelynn D. Klingensmith; a brother, George Norwood; sister-in-law, Elaine Norwood; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Service will be noon, Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Indian Mission United Methodist Church, 22701 Indian Mission Road, Harbeson, DE 19951, where friends may call one hour prior. Friends may also call on Thursday, Jan. 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Pastor Karen Mumford will officiate. Interment will follow at Indian Mission United Methodist Church Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either the Nanticoke Indian Association, 27073 John J. Williams Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966, or Indian Mission United Methodist Church, 28167 Warwick Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966. In memory of William E. Norwood.
