William C. Wheeler, 80

SMYRNA -- William C. Wheeler, of Smyrna, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover. He was 80. He was born in Georgetown, son of the late Mary Ellen Lambdon and William Harvey Wheeler. He served in the Navy Seabees and on the USS Worchester during World War II. He worked as a deliveryman for Bond Bread, and was also a self-employed repairman before retiring several years ago. Bill always had time for his boys and for baseball when they were growing up. He loved the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. He is survived by two sons, Frank Wayne Wheeler of Felton and Donald J. Wheeler and his wife Becky of Mobile, Alaska; a sister, Delores Raldolph of Micco, Fla.; two granddaughters, Terra J. Havens, of Columbus, Miss., and Meredith Lynn Wheeler of Felton; and six great-grandchildren, Morgan, Mackenzie, and Garytt William Havens, all of Columbus, and Kasidey, Skyler and Abby Wheeler, all of Felton. Services will be held noon Tuesday at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11 a.m. Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
