William B. Mitten, III, 71
DOVER, Del. - William B. Mitten, III passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, in Bayhealth Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born on April 20, 1950, in Dover, Del. to the late William B. Mitten, Jr. and Jean E. Mitten.
Mr. Mitten graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, Del. in 1968 and York College with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1972. In 1973, he moved back to Dover and joined Mitten Construction where he became President in 1983. He was a former member of Wyoming United Methodist Church, Wild Quail Golf & Country Club, Dover Rotary Club and Ducks Unlimited. Bill was also appointed to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission as a commissioner. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, golfing, boating and being with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, David K. Mitten.
Mr. Mitten is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Wendy K. Mitten of Lewes, Del.; daughters, Kelly M. Wark (Jeff) of Dover, Del. and Jackie M. Roberts (Eben) of Dover, Del.; brother, Douglas N. Mitten of Virginia; sister-in-law, Sandra L. Mitten, of Millsboro, Del.; four grandchildren, Brendan, Lauren, Elle, and Brooke.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon, with Funeral services being held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Del. Interment will be held at Barratt's Chapel.
