Wayne L. Rennaker

Wayne L. Rennaker passed away after a long battle with COPD in Syracuse, N.Y. on Jun., 29, 2017.
Wayne was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Irene. Wayne dedicated much of his life to the military. He proudly served his country with 23 years of service in the U.S. Air Force and four years in the U.S. Army. He was a Vietnam War veteran with numerous medals of honor. Wayne was recognized by the Army for gallantry in action near Korea as he was in command of a lead squad.
He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and quality time with his family. Wayne was referred to as "pop-pop" by his six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Wayne shared his love of animals with Irene as they adored their Chihuahuas.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Irene; daughter, Lori (Bob) Youker; sisters, Beverly Degriselles and Shirley Karstens; brother, Frank (Ardy) Rennaker; grandchildren, Shannon (JP), Jennifer, Andy (Jaci), Jessica, Haley and Ryan; and great-grandchildren, Kurin, Kayla, Noah, Brooklynn, Arianna and Grayson.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte and Frank; brothers, Wendel and Gaylord; son, Michael Rennaker; daughter, Roxann Rennaker; grandson, Logan Mumaw; brothers-in-law, Jack Karstens and William Degriselles; and sister-in-law, Rose Rennaker.
Services will be 11 a.m., Jul. 28, 2017, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
