Donophan, 87 DOVER - Walter Lewis Donophan passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Feb. 9, 2016. He was born on Feb. 4, 1929 in Frederica to the late John Lewis Donophan & Geneva Austin Donophan. He retired after 30 years from the A&P Tea Company, where he worked the Produce Dept., he later worked at Leggett Dept. Store in security. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed flowering & woodworking. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren & pets. He was proceeded in death by his stepmother, Ruth Donophan; his daughter, Mary Ann Donophan; grandson, John Patrick Gies; brother, Rev. Charles Donophan; nephews, BJ & Scott Donophan; and sister in law, Janice Donophan. He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Donophan of 67 years; his children, Jean Stevenson, Wanda Kucek & husband Gary, Richard Donophan, Charlene Darling & partner Scott Slacum, Bonnie Mae Ksenich & fiancé Randy Sim; a brother, James Donophan; and a sister, Ruth Lee Bartlett; grandchildren, Samantha Ksenich, Mason Donophan, Amber Coleman, Kayla Ksenich, Sarah Caldwell & Brianna Darling; step grandchildren, Ronald Darling III and Megan Slacum; great-grandchildren, Emma Caldwell, Elizabeth Ksenich, Martin Anthony Ksenich II, Chloe Coleman; and step great-grandchild, Ronald Darling IV. Friends may call on 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2016 at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St, Dover, DE 19901. Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Frebruary 16, 2016 in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Barretts Chapel.
