HARRINGTON - Walter Lang passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016. Walter immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1955. He served in the United States Navy and later was the manager of the National 5 &10 in Harrington where he worked along the side of his wife, Lianne, for many years. Walter loved to travel, discuss politics, listen to classical music and read. Prior to his retirement, he was a member of the Harrington Lions Club, the Jaycees, the Chamber of Commerce, and played a pivotal role in starting and opening a daycare center at St Stephen's Church, in Harrington. Walter was also once the President of the Harrington Senior Center. Even with failing health, he continued to be an active member of the German American Club in Dover, where he had many close friends. He is survived by his beloved wife Lianne, who he would have been married to for 60 years this coming January; his daughter, Stephanie Stachoni and son-in-law, Matthew, of Bear; and a host of family in Germany.
