CLAYTON - Walter J. Swieder Sr. of Clayton died Friday November 17, 2006 in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital. He was 80.
Mr. Sweieder was born Feb. 7, 1926, in Elizabeth, N.J., son of the late Edward and Blanche (Bronowicz) Swieder.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.
He worked as an insulator for Local 42 in Wilmington for several years before retirement.
Mr. Swieder was an avid bowler.
He is survived by a daughter, Betty Ann Lee of Cadiz, Ky.; two sons, John Swieder of Hollywood, Ala. and Bobby Swieder of Covington, Va.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Polycarps Church, 135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, DE 19977.
