LEWES - Walter F. Ohneck Jr., of Lewes, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 73.
Mr. Ohneck was born Oct. 7, 1934, in Randolph Township, Morris County, N.J., son of the late Walter Fred and Lena (Aurand) Ohneck.
He was formerly employed as a foundry worker in the field of alloy melting.
After relocating from New Jersey nine years ago, Mr. Ohneck worked as a registrar at Cape Henlopen State Park, Lewes.
He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1962.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Walter J. Ohneck; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Grace J. (Sutton) Ohneck; his daughter, Deborah L. Tarantino and her husband Robert of Randolph, N.J.; two sons, John Ohneck and his wife Debbie of North Chapel Hill, N.C., and William Ohneck and his fiancee Allison Blasberg of Carlstadt, N.J.; two granddaughters, Alicia and Cassandra Tarantino; and a step-granddaughter, Marie Boudry.
Funeral services are private.
Entombment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, 1151 Walker Road, Suite 202, Dover, DE 19901.
