Wallace G. Edmanson

MILTON - Wallace G. Edmanson passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was born in Newark, Del. the son of the late Raymond and Frances (Backoff) Edmanson. He was a truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight in Wilmington for many years before retiring in 1977. He was also a life member of the VFW Post #475 in Newark as well as a Vol. Fireman for many years with the Aetna Fire Co., in Newark, Del., and served in the US Army during WWII. He loved boating and fishing and was a member of the Indian River Yacht Club for many years. He was also an active member of the Grace Church in Milton where he served as an usher and was active in the men's Sunday school. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death his wife, Nancy (Gensler) Edmanson in April and his brother, Raymond Edmanson. He is survived by his children, WG Edmanson II and his wife Ana of Camden, Del., Shelley Fleetwood and husband James Gusek of Lakewood, Colo., Karen Kelly and husband James of Lincoln University, Pa., Richard Edmanson of Wilmington, Robert Edmanson and wife Sandy of Wash. D.C.; grandchildren Mia and Geena Edmanson and Clare and Christian Kelly. Funeral Services will be held Thursday May 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Grace Church, Union St., Milton, Del., where friends may call after 12 p.m.. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton. Flowers are accepted or donations can be made to: Grace Church, 514 Union Street, Milton, DE 19968. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Milton, DE.
