Vivian Loretta (Johnson) Williams, 72

BRIDGEVILLE - Vivian Loretta (Johnson) Williams, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, in Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford. She was 72. She was born June 26, 1936 in Cannon, daughter of the late Frederick and Viola (Cannon) Johnson. Mrs. Williams had been employed as an Administrative Assistant by B'nai B'rith International in Washington, D.C. for some 14 years. After relocating to Delaware she worked for Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford as an Accounting Clerk retiring in 1998. Mrs. Williams enjoyed doing yard work and her flowers. She traveled far and wide over the years and especially enjoyed her trips with her friends from Milford Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Federalsburg, Md., where she served on the financial committees of the Charge. She was a devoted and loving wife. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Lee Johnson Sr., and Carlton E. Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lester James Williams Jr.; a daughter, Helen Drayton and her husband Robert, of Seaford; a granddaughter, Rovair Felton, of Seaford; a devoted nephew, Alfred Lee Johnson Jr. and his wife Wanda; a great-nephew, Moshe Yanche Carther-Johnson, all of Columbus, Ga.; two god-daughters, Jasmine Haynes, of Greenwood, and Terronda Jackson, of Columbus, Ga.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, with the Rev. Marie Robinson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be private at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Williams be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 3435 Harper Road, Federalsburg, MD 21632.
