WILMINGTON - Virginia Jo Engelhardt of Wilmington died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. She was 58.

She was a waitress at Hunter"s Den Restaurant for more than 25 years.

Mrs. Engelhardt was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Millcreek Fire Co., Station 1, and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church, Denton, Md.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Deboutez, in 1987.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, George Engelhardt; her father, Joseph Deboutez of Wilmington; her aunts, Blanche Pickens of Wilmington and Shirley Ann Grubbs of Baxter Springs, Ky.; her brothers-in-law, Wilbur Gibbs, Alton Gibbs and Riley Gibbs; and her sisters-in-law, Thelma Hrupsa and Mary Anderson.

Services will be today at 7 p.m. in Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown roads, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford-Harrington Highway, Harrington.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Ladies Auxiliary of Millcreek Fire Co., Station 1, 3900 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
