Violette G. Sterner

DOVER - Violette G. Sterner, of Dover, died Saturday morning, Oct. 16, 2010, at Bay Health Kent General Hospital in Dover. Mrs. Sterner was born in Bethlehem, Pa., on Jan. 26, 1928, to the late Matthew and Lena Gerencher. She was mostly a homemaker, but had held several jobs before moving to Dover in 1968. Mrs. Sterner was a member of the Dover Century Club where she was former secretary and treasurer. She was a member of the Club 55 bowling league and had won many bowling medals and awards including the Senior Olympics. She was also an avid Phillies fan. Mrs. Sterner is survived by; her husband of 60 years, Charles "Chuck" Sterner; two sons, Charles H. Sterner, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Felton and Dan Sterner and his wife Robin Hartnett-Sterner of Felton; two daughters, Barbara Angermeier and her husband Bernie of Felton and Nancy Apa and her husband Vince of Frederica; a brother, Geza Gerencher of Bethlehem, Pa.; and a sister, Helen Baba of Hellertown, Pa.; granddaughters, Danielle M. Angermeier of Midlothian, Va., and Erin Dotson and her husband, Eric of Dover. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, DE 19901 where friends may call from 6:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., Wednesday. Interment will be in the Sharon Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Dover, DE. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 611 Forest St., Dover, DE 19904
