SMYRNA - Victoria V. Laskaris, of Smyrna, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 13, 2018 at Pinnacle Health Center.
Born on July 7, 1924, in Chester, Pa. to Joseph and Sophia Lazinsky, Vicki graduated from Ridley High School and attended Beaver (Arcadia) College. Vicki enjoyed fashion and worked at John Wanamaker for many years in the women's department.
Vicki was married in 1948 to Dr. George P. Laskaris, DDS and the couple remained married until his death in 2007. Vicki and George lived in Wilmington from 1948 to 2002, when the couple moved to Smyrna to be closer to their family. Vicki loved all sports, especially golf, at which she occasionally exaggerated her scorecard. She and George belonged to Concord Country Club in Concordville, Pa. for 35 years. Vicki was especially happy to finally see the Eagles win a Super Bowl.
She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, and 'Nana' who cared about her family very much. Victoria is survived by her daughter, Nicole (Jeffrey) Ruckman; her grandchildren, Christopher Ruckman (Teresa McCaffrey) and Victoria Ruckman; and her great-granddaughter, Charlotte Nicole Ruckman.
Victoria was preceded in death by her husband, George P. Laskaris; her brothers Samuel Lazinsky and John Lazinsky; and her sister, Nettie Pelc.
Services will be private.
