PONCHATOULA, La. - Victor Frank Celio, of Ponchatoula, died on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010. He was 51. Born in Dover, Del., on Jan. 18, 1959, he was the son of the late, Frank and Nicholina "Micky" Celio. He was a 1977 graduate of Holy Cross High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from Beebe Nursing School and worked as a registered nurse in Kent General Hospital, Philadelphia Presbyterian Hospital and Miami Children's Hospital. Additionally, he received a Master's degree in Theology. He later pursued his lifelong dream of serving the Lord by joining the Dominican Order of priests. During his ministry, he fulfilled spiritually and physically the needs of people in many places throughout the world including the U.S., Europe, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. Most recently he was assigned to St. Joseph Rectory in Ponchatoula. He is survived by his brother, Dominic and wife Donna; his sister, Linda Georgules and husband Michael; and loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Celio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula, LA. Interment will follow in the Rosaryville Cemetery, Ponchatoula, La. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Southern Dominican Province, 1421 N. Causeway Blvd, Suite 200, Metairie, LA 70001-4144.
