Verona L. (Smith) Grant

BRIDGEVILLE - Verona L. (Smith) Grant of Bridgeville passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford.

She was born in Bridgeville, daughter of the late Robert D. and Anita Verona (Messick) Smith.

Mrs. Grant worked for 57 years at Delaware Electric Co-op, retiring in 2006 as the credit supervisor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leo Grant Sr., in 1995; and a son, Gene Tyndall Grant, in 1968.

She is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, James L. and Brenda Grant of Millsboro; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert D. and Jeannette Smith of Bridgeville and Jerry L. and Mary Smith of Seaford; a sister and a brother-in-law, Margaret A. (Smith) and Gene Lent of Longwood, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Parcell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour earlier.

The Rev. William Goslee will officiate.

Burial will follow in Bridgeville Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to Operation Share, c/o of Salvation Army, P.O. Box 310, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
