Townsend Austin

GEORGETOWN - Townsend Austin, age 80, of Georgetown, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, in Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. Born in Federalsburg, Md., the son of the late Violet Chaffinch and Willis Austin, he was a truck driver for Pritchett Trucking of Cambridge, Md. He was a Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of Nanticoke Post 6 American Legion, Seaford. He is survived by a son, Carlie Austin of Georgetown; and by a daughter, Karen A. Ramey and husband Gordon of Bridgeville; a brother, Richard V. Austin of Bridgeville; and three grandchildren, Lynn, Trey and Trevor Ramey. A private graveside service will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at Bloomery Cemetery Federalsburg, Md. Friends may call at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front & King Streets, Seaford, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Thursday afternoon, Sept. 22, 2011.
