Timothy John Stubbs

FRANKFORD - Timothy J. Stubbs departed this life on Aug. 5, 2016 after putting up one hell of a fight against cancer. Born Sept. 21, 1960 in North Dartmouth, Mass. to the late John L. and Carol Stubbs. Affectionately known as "Timmy", he gave his parents a run for their money in his early years before joining the United States Army in 1979. Tim served his country for 10 years as a vehicle mechanic and tractor trailer operator. During that time, he earned numerous medals and decorations before receiving an honorable discharge. Tim carried his love of 18 wheelers into a career path working for numerous local trucking companies. His hard work paid off and Tim purchased his own truck and T. J. Stubbs Trucking was born. He drove for many years and often took his son Michael along during his summer breaks from school. Those who knew Tim, knew his truck was well guarded by his beloved dog, Pete, who was always riding shotgun. Following in his father's footsteps Tim hung up his keys and took a job with Sun Marine Maintenance. New opportunities arose and Tim was offered a job at Hammer and Steel becoming sales and service manager. Traveling worldwide training, servicing and commissioning Junttan pile driving rigs. He was highly respected and loved by everyone who was fortunate to call him a friend. Tim was a dedicated father, grandfather and husband who will be greatly missed. Tim is proceeded in death by his beloved father, John L. Stubbs. He is survived by his wife, Coleen Stubbs; son; Michael J. Stubbs (Lindsey); daughter, Stacie M. John (Eric); step-children; Mark C. Hunter and Anna M. Hunter; four grandchildren, Ethan Timothy Stubbs, Aiden John Stubbs, Aubrie Ann John and Bailey Brin John; his Mother, Carol Ann Stubbs; step-mother, Norah T. Stubbs; three brothers, Scott Stubbs (Martha), Allen Stubbs, Daniel Stubbs (Candice); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family. A funeral service will be held on Fri., Aug. 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947 where friends may call after 11 a.m. A reception will be held following the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in Tim's honor to the Tunnell Cancer Center. Checks can be mailed to 18947 John J. Williams Hwy. Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 The family also requests that you take a moment to spend time with a loved one. Life is short and time waits for no one.
