Cephas, 54 DOVER - Timothy David Cephas was born March 24, 1958 in Wilmington, Del. to the late Fred G. Sr. and Catherine (nee Dixon) Cephas; was raised in Slaughter Neck, Lincoln, Del., and went quietly home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, after a long illness. Tim loved the Lord. He was brought up in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Slaughter Neck where he was saved at an early age and maintained his membership until his illness prevented him from attending. He then became a devoted and dedicated member of The Liberty Church in Dover, Del. where he has spent his last years. He loved music and had a beautiful tenor voice which used in the church for many years. Tim was a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, Del. He then received his certification from Delaware Technical Community College in "Automotive Maintenance", and after the required 5 years of Toyota service he attended Toyota University and became a Master Mechanic for Toyota of Milford. He also served in the United States Air Force Reserve as an aircraft mechanic for more than 10 years giving him the opportunity to fly to other countries. He leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Sandra Mifflin Taylor (Greg) of Dover, Dianne Cephas of Felton, and Catherine R. Cephas of Wilmington; his step-mother, Elsie Y. Cephas of Lincoln; his godson, Adam Kelsie of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, June C. Walker; and two brothers, Jon E. of Baltimore, Md. and Fred G., Jr. of Milford. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at The Liberty Church, 1150 W. State College Rd., Dover, DE., where friends may call two hours prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home. www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com.
