Thomas Foskey, 74
HARRINGTON - Thomas Foskey of Harrington passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, in Silver Lake Center, Dover. He was 74.
Mr. Foskey was born Sept. 22, 1932, in Laurel, son of the late John Thomas and Stella (Bailey) Foskey.
He was raised in and around Laurel. At the age of 17, he met and dated Betty Lou Keator and later married her. They lived in Laurel for a while and later moved to Farmington for the remainder of his life. They raised five loving and beautiful children.
Mr. Foskey retired from DuPont in Seaford in early 1981. He was retired on disability due to heart attacks.
He was a man who dearly loved telling jokes and playing tricks on people. He loved bluegrass music.
Mr. Foskey was a member of Cannon Mennonite Church and the Harrington Moose Lodge 534.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Foskey, who was killed in a traffic accident at the age of 16; and a brother, Howard Foskey.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty L. Foskey; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara A. and Donald Murphy of Greenwood, Susan and Dave MacFarland of Harrington and Cindy Lou Larimore of Greenwood; a son, Thomas Clifton "Cliff" Foskey and his companion Susanne Jones, both of Harrington; six grandchildren, Robin Marvel, Keith MacFarland, Ginger Chelton, Chad Larimore, JoAnn Warrington and Denise Larimore; and a brother and a sister-in-law, Virgil and Ella Foskey of Farmington.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fleischauer Funeral Home, 48 W. Market St., Greenwood, where friends may call two hours earlier. After the services there will be a reception at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Greenwood.
Burial will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
