Thomas Boone 'Tom' Chandler, 72
GOLDSBORO, Md. - Thomas Boone "Tom" Chandler of Goldsboro died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at his home. He was 72.
He was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Wise County, Va., to the late James Roy Chandler I and Nora Belle Boone Chandler.
Mr. Chandler lived in the area for the last 30 years, moving from Sunset Beach in Anne Arundel County.
He retired in 1996 as vice president of production at Chesapeake Corp., a corrugated box manufacturer, after 36 years of service.
Mr. Chandler enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Chandler; and two sisters, Doris Chandler and Carolyn Tippett.
Mr. Chandler is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty (Brickey) Chandler of Goldsboro; three sons, James Chandler of Henderson, Mark Chandler of Denton and Thomas and his wife Lisa Chandler of Greensboro; a brother, James Chandler of Waldorf; five grandchildren, James Chandler Jr., Ashley Chandler, Morgan Chandler, Maia Chandler and Hannah Chandler; and many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, where friends may call one hour prior and also from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Interment will be in Greensboro Cemetery.
